Magnet Theater
Magnet Theater is a performance space and training ground for the best and brightest comedic talent in New York City. Since 2005, we’ve been at the epicenter of the city’s growing improv movement—and today, we’re one of the most recognizable improv schools and theaters in the city.

Open Mic Night
Pre-pandemic We did two improv mixers a week, one on Wednesday at 6pm at the theater and one on Thursday at 5:45pm at the Training Center. We also do a Musical Mixer every other Tuesday. They’re free to our students and anyone can sign up!

I cannot say enough good things about the Magnet. I have attended roughly 15 shows, two mixers, and have taken two improv courses here. Both of my teachers were fantastic, all of my classmates were very kind, fun, and welcoming, and all of the shows are hilarious! I strongly recommend joining for a show, there are shows almost every night. And if you are even remotely considering taking an improv class, do it here asap! It has been such a wonderful experience and going to class/shows are routinely the highlight of my week. Can't recommend more!
So so so fun!!!! We enjoyed the show so much and were laughing the entire time, we were sad we didn’t get to go back again the next night. The stage is small, but efficient and has a good energy in the room. Next time we go back to NYC we’re going to the Magnet!
