My friends and I came in on Wednesday, February 18, from Vian, Ok, to see Hunks the Show and the people working at the front door were very rude and also were trying to charge us $30 a piece for the seats. This after telling us they had been sold out but some other people left so they had some seats. So why were they not only charging us for seats that were technically already paid for, which I do understand the cover charge to be per person, but also charging us $10 a piece extra for them and the show was about half over when we got there? We drove an hour and a half to come see the show and were very offended by the attitude of the woman taking the money. We left very upset and not likely to return for any future business.
Showed up and it was little weird seeing the iconic old movie theater converted into the The Tulsa Comedy Club. Getting in was easy and even though I had my ticket pulled up on my phone the man at the door didn't care about it and gave me my wrist band. Me being worried about not printing it ahead of time was not a issue. No one directed where to go but it was easy enough to wonder around until I found where I needed to be.They kept some of the old features like lightning and chandelier in lobby. Of course the old theater room was stripped of theater seats and more modern comfortable appropriate seats and tables were added. In a old theater room there was a stage, a screen displaying Tulsa Comedy Club and a DJ booth playing modern club music. Lobby had pool tables, TVs, and a bar with 2 bar tenders. One not fluent in English enough for me to order a mocktail but the other one spoke English. They didn't have all the basic add-ins "mixes" so I accepted what they did have which was pineapple juice garnish with cherries. I did appreciate that it was only $2 considering most of the time my mocktail cost more than that so I was able to put the additional money in the tip jar for them and get that started for them since no one else had. They don't serve any food either. Maybe something they might consider at least snacks of some kind. This was a free show with pre-order tickets. Ticket said show starts at 7pm but nothing started until after 8pm. A pretty good crowd has showed up around 40 people. 8pm lights went down and they did a mic check. A little after that they started. They had a few comedians come up on stage and each did a few minutes each. All was pretty basic routine or what you would expect and similar joke styles and every one got a few laughs.
