I will give 10 stars if I can. This unique learning experience is set up to break you out of your own shell and to build confidence you never knew you had through creative process. The director, Kim Hiller-Green, is mater at her craft yet so kind and gentle with kids. My kids have been going to the Laughing Academy for several years now and they love every minute of it. We recently had a birthday party and they were so accommodating and friendly. The little touch of decorations they put says a lot about how much they care for their students. You will not regret putting your child in this program or working with them for your unique party ideas.

Would not recommend if you’re a minority or looking for diverse set of students and faculty. My classes were made up of mainly retired or older Xer and Boomers that are out of touch with our generation (millennial and gen z). Could not relate to their jokes and vice versa. When I tried to criticize the owner, Kim, for not taking a stance on certain political and moral issues, I was met with a terrible attitude and little empathy. Even just writing to the congressman or state reps about the affordability crisis, or speaking at underprivileged high schools to implement more arts programs- there’s little community involvement. I’ve been attending second city in Chicago and they seem more aware of what’s going on. Even if they can’t take a political stance, the students there are all our age and taking action.
