This room is remarkably clean and comfortable. The bed has a pleasantly firm mattress, which allowed me to sleep soundly both nights. The floors are made of elegant hardwood planks, something I truly value in hotel stays. I wish more hotels would choose this type of flooring. The room features a stylish industrial design that I really appreciate. Everything is beautifully coordinated, from the furniture to the wall art. The shower was also excellent, featuring a rain showerhead and high-quality body wash. While the room is neat, cozy, and fashionable, it does lack some amenities. I expected the absence of a microwave since it's a casino hotel, but I was surprised to find there was no mini-fridge either. There is coffee and water available, along with vending machines down the hall, but that was somewhat inconvenient for me. Additionally, the walls seem quite thin, allowing noise to travel easily. It didn't disturb my sleep since I kept busy throughout the day and fell into bed at night, but I understand that might not be the case for everyone. The fitness center is quite nice, but it feels a bit cramped and has limited equipment, primarily consisting of treadmills and bikes, with the elliptical resembling a stair climber. There is no cold water available; although they offer bottles, they are only at room temperature. One could argue that the water is accessible. Additionally, there are no cleaning supplies for the machines, as they are frequently out of wipes. The pool is situated outside on the same level and adjacent to the fitness center, which seems like an odd choice for a city with cold weather. Lastly, the spa appears to be permanently closed, likely due to the pandemic. Perhaps they should consider introducing a new franchise? This hotel is ideal for a night or maybe two at the most. It offers cleanliness and comfort, ensuring a good night's sleep, but that's about it. If possible, try to book your stay during the week, as it will be much cheaper and less disruptive. If I had to pay for a more expensive night, the downsides would become more apparent. The hotel is conveniently located near Interstate 91 and is centrally positioned, with many attractions, including the Basketball Hall of Fame and the Springfield Museums within walking distance. Despite its flaws, MGM Springfield remains the top option among downtown Springfield hotels. After my stay completed, it took about a week but I did manage to score Marriott Bonvoy points and the promotional extra points and nights, so be patient!
First time going this past weekend. Was not crowded . Noise level was very manageable, for this who have a hard time being in loud noise places. Was very clean & had a pleasantly smelling.. Staff was very polite & professional. Drinks were made ,very well & readily available . Over all a pretty gd experience for my first time at a casino.
Parking is available at the self parking garage for the casino.
