My husband and I had general seating tickets and had a great time at the PGH Improv. If you’re hoping to sit up close, definitely plan to get in line earlier. That said, even seats toward the back aren’t bad at all — the venue is relatively small with tiered seating, so there really isn’t a bad view in the house. Seating is arranged for even-numbered parties (typically four per table), so if you’re attending as a couple, expect to share a table with another couple. That wasn’t an issue for us, but worth knowing ahead of time. The two-drink minimum had me a little nervous only because our orders ended up pretty spaced out. We were served right at the beginning, but after our server completed the first round for all her tables, the second round didn’t come until fairly late into the show. The table app worked well for food ordering — honestly, you’re more likely to get your food before bar drinks. The sound system is loud and clear, so even if your sightline isn’t perfect, you’ll still hear everything easily. Other than waiting outside for about 45 minutes in the cold, once inside everything was very well organized and moved quickly. Overall, we had a great night and lots of laughs. We’ll definitely be back for another show, just maybe when it’s a little warmer so standing outside isn’t so bad.
We caught a show at Pittsburgh Improv and overall had an entertaining night—mostly thanks to the talent on stage. The lobby is small but packed with photos and memorabilia, which is a fun touch while you’re waiting. Inside, the auditorium is spacious with solid sightlines—nice views of the stage from most seats. However the show started late - well over an hour. The doors opened behind schedule so everyone ended up waiting outside in the snow MUCH longer than expected. Also worth noting, there was only one exit door after the show, which made leaving take forever. Strong start—drinks came out quickly and the staff was friendly. That momentum didn’t quite last. We asked for water twice and never received it… and to add a little comedy of its own, we watched our server deliver two waters to people who hadn’t ordered them 🤷🏽♂️. Godfrey was the highlight of the night and absolutely crushed it. Had the crowd in tears from start to finish and his Trump impersonation might be the best I’ve heard yet—spot-on and hysterical. 🤣 Would return for the right comedian. But I'd most likely catch them at another venue. Do better, improv.
Complimentary parking is located behind our venue and throughout the Waterfront area.
