This place is decent. There are a few comedy clubs in Philly and this is the only one I go to regularly. It's small but that means you generally can't get a bad seat. The majority of the acts are unknown comics or people known from Tiktok/Instagram, but occasionally you get a big one. I've seen Kevin Nealon here fairly recently, will see Des Bishop, Ryan Long and Patton Oswalt in the near future, which hits all of the above categories lol. My only complaint about this place is the food and drink menu. There's a purchase minimum, which is standard practice, but the menu is not great. The drinks are extremely sugary (it's stuff college kids would like) and the food menu seems to be mostly reheated frozen stuff and has never changed as long as I've been coming here. I would come chill in the very cool looking lounge before the show, but the drinks are just unappetizing. I would definitely spend more money here and take more risks on random comics if the food/drinks were better or at least changed sometimes. That said, the service is fine and I don't really understand all the reviews complaining about that. It's a fairly small staff and they're not supposed to be at your table every 5 minutes during a show. Trust me, if they did you'd be complaining about that lol
The show was supposed to start at 9:30, seating at 9:15 we all stood in the lobby way passed starting time. Very unorganized lines to admit no communication from staff. The food that was supposed to be hot was room temperature when it did get delivered. The only that was focused on a lot was “two drink minimum” I attend Helium at least five times a year for years and each time since Covid my experience has declined considerably, I’m hoping magically things will improve One bright 5 star was our server Lauren attentive energetic and welcoming.
