We really enjoyed our first visit to River: A Waterfront Restaurant & Bar. The vibe is amazing, and the drinks were excellent. The Pom Pom Martini and Apple Old Fashioned were both well balanced and perfect for the atmosphere. The food was clearly flavorful and thoughtfully prepared, but temperature was a bit of a letdown. The braised short rib and whipped gold potatoes were cold, though the flavors themselves were great. I also had the 28-day dry-aged Kansas City strip—the taste was bold and empowering, but the cook was uneven. That said, I would absolutely order it again. Appetizers were a standout. The crispy Gulf shrimp was incredible, and the bread rolls were to die for. Service made a big difference—Veronica was amazing: attentive, kind, and especially helpful since it was our first time. Management presence was mixed, but overall the experience was positive. Great drinks, strong flavors, and a beautiful setting. With more consistency in food temperature, this place could really shine. ✨

The patio is a serene, open space that immediately sets a relaxed vibe. Every dish we tried was fresh and full of flavor. While it would be nice if small extras like bread were included, the experience more than made up for it. The soft music on a crisp fall afternoon created the perfect backdrop for our meal. Our server was attentive, genuinely kind, and even offered to snap photos of our group. Slightly tucked away and off the beaten path, this spot is a true hidden treasure.
